United States star Kristie Mewis is set to join West Ham from Gotham FC in the January transfer window, according to a report.

WHAT HAPPENED?
The midfielder has agreed to swap New Jersey for London and will bee announced as West Ham's first signing of the January transfer window later this week, reports. The signing of the USWNT star will come as a huge boost to the Hammers, who sit second-bottom of the Women's Super League, ahead of Bristol City on goal difference.

Mewis joins West Ham after helping Gotham win the NWSL Championship this year. She was also a member of the United States team that crashed out of the Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand at the last-16 stage, losing to Sweden on penalties after playing out a goalless draw over 120 minutes.
